Generosity & giving

We believe God is generous and that “we love because Christ first loved us” (1 John 4: 19).

We also believe that it is Biblical to have a regular and practical pattern of giving to Charity and Mission. For this reason as a church we give a tithe (around a tenth) of our church income to other charities. See Annual Report for Charities supported last year. (If you have any suggestions for charities for us to consider please e-mail Charlie or the Treasurer and it will be discussed at our Giving meeting)

We also believe it is right to encourage committed church members to consider tithing or to share some of the financial responsibilty and cost of our church’s ministry and work, (not to mention upkeep and maintenance of our building). Regular giving is an essential means of support.  Having said that we do not want visitors to feel under pressure to contribute financially if they do not wish to do so.

For those who do want to make a commitment to give regularly the easiest and most tax-efficient form of giving is to set up a Standing Order. We also have Gift Aid envelopes and can process Charity vouchers  (such as Charities Aid Foundation, Stewardship).

We also welcome cash or cheques put into the collection at church (with one off gifts let us know if you are a UK taxpayer so we can claim the tax back!). For further Gift Aid envelopes or advice please speak to Juanita Fan (Stewardship officer), Morag (Treasurer), Charlie or contact the church office.

“We are still some way short of our target to pay for the works to open up the church. If you would like to help please visit our giving page
and mention “Building Fund” in the message box. Thank you!”
